Believe in the sun, even when it's not shining

In love, even when you're alone

In God, even when He is silent.

Daddy's Day 2010

This is Saturday evening at Outback Steakhouse - they're playing Tic Tac Toe!

Earlier in the day, she lost one of her front teeth. The other is hanging by a thread...
She's very proud! She worked and worked at the other one to increase her loot from the Tooth Fairy, but so far, no luck!
On Sunday, Daddy, Mom, & Pat drove down for Father's Day...we ate at Daddy's favorite seafood spot and then came back to the house for dessert and presents.
Gracie opened all of her Daddy's...

see....working on that tooth!
Look at that stinker - he's laughing at the shirt we gave him, saying that everyone would think he was our newest Candy Striper! The XBox game, cologne and grill pan made up for it though :)!
Gracie had to show Marmie her fairy play make-up...she and Marmie had glitter from tip to toe by the time they were through!
Mom decides we're taking family pictures after our trip outside in the heat of the day to trim back some plants...I'm red as a beet and my hair is haywire...oh well, welcome to my world! Mom is wearing my Elmo house slippers!
Gracie with Marmie and Popi!
Hope everyone had a great Father's day!

New Horsies and New Happys!

No, don't worry...no new horses for us...we still have our same starting line-up!

But, Gracie rode a new horse today! Pal hasn't been feeling too spiffy, so here's Whiskey. She's moving with her owners to Georgia soon, but we'll enjoy her while we can!
Gracie was a little apprehensive - after all, the fall's a little further on this horse! But, she loosened up with Mrs. Robin's guidance and had a great lesson this morning -

Thanks, Whiskey!
Also, a BIG Happy Birthday to Aunt Mary! Today's your day - we're thinking about you and hope you have a great one!

Gracie's summer so far...

We're down to 18 horses, as we sold Molly. She has a good home up in Conroe, but we sure do miss her...

While Jack and I were in Vegas, Mom kept Gracie and they went to the zoo...Gracie's favorite, of course.
Looks like they had a good time...
This is Baylor, the newest addition to the elephant family...he is just the cutest little thing ever!

An interesting guy for sure...
Leo the lion...
Watusi cattle

This must be the Goat Spa... :)
Carousel ride...

This guy has a BIG beak -

Ahhhh...the flamingos are always a pretty sight -

Some of her recent riding lessons -

...and even a trip to the Fisherman's Wharf in Galveston to have lunch with Daddy...

...and one more lesson with Ms. Lauren...

...and Ms. Lauren asked her to be her flower girl for her September wedding - something exciting to look forward to for sure!

What Happens In Vegas...

Crazy Kitty bedded down in Jack's suitcase while we were packing...I guess she was in the mood for a little trip...

Jack had a conference in Vegas last week. During the day, I read out by the pool while he attended his classes, but at night, we walked (or were smarter and took a taxi - it was over 105* the whole time we were there) to dinner. When there, we always have dinner at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritavilleat least once...can't beat the atmosphere and the Parrot Head tunes!

Neither of us gamble that much, so we just toured through the hotels. We found this Peter Lik gallery in Ceasar's Palace. I could get lost in this photo -

The Lalique fountain in The Venetian

the view of the Strip from our window at Mandalay Bay

Jack's big ol' boot beer at Gilley's...

...and some signs that I think I need replicas of...

Then to Serendipity 3 for a Frozen Hot Chocolate dessert...

I think he looks mad because I'm making him share!

The Bellagio Gardens...giant hot air balloons, butterflies, bees, ants, flowers, mushrooms...

A liitle surreal, but still cool...

...and even cooler is the World's Largest Chocolate Fountain at this patisserie also in The Bellagio...

a sneak peek of the pools, too...talk about having a good hide-and-seek game!

Jack waiting on the tram from The Bellagio to the new City Center...

some stairs at Crystals, the shopping area in the City Center - lots of geodes

This was in our suite at Mandalay Bay - I would love to have one of these out by our pool!

Back to reality...and thank goodness, away from Krispy Kreme donuts and huge buffets!
