On Saturday, we had our first riding lesson in about six weeks...between the weather, her teacher's schedule and ours, it just hadn't happened in a while. She did a great job, listened hard and rode great. We ran a few errands afterwards and by that afternoon at 2, she was in bed with a 102* fever. It was the weirdest thing - it came on so suddenly and she was sick. We gave her medicine every four hours, even at night, and we all guzzled orange juice like there was no tomorrow and by Sunday afternoon, she was fine...some little 24-hr bug, I guess.
At the end of the lesson, aguy that works for Jack brought his little girl by for a ride on Pal. She's three, so she'll have to wait a year or two, but Gracie led Pal while she rode and she was so proud...I guess not to be "the baby" any more...and, me, I was just sad...sad that she wasn't the baby anymore...
This week, we'll be preparing for Thanksgiving...I went to the grocery store this weekend, cleaned house a little today, began getting our serving dishes and china out, etc. Tomorrow, I'll work, Tuesday is the annual Grandparents Day celebration at Grace's school and Mom is coming in for that and I have to decorate and help serve pie and refreshments, so that will be an all day event, Wednesday, I'll be cooking and cleaning, Thursday is Turkey Day with plenty of guests and good food and Friday, Mom and I are taking Gracie to San Antonio to see the Riverwalk lit up for the Christmas season. Wow...I think I need some No-Doze!
